AFTER THE LOSS OF A LOVED ONE

Following the loss of a loved one their passing must be registered with the Australian Government. Depending on the situation, the family may need to lodge an Advice of Death form or health care professionals may register this for you.

The government offers a number of allowances and payments as bereavement supports that may be accessible, depending on your individual circumstances. These include a number of lump sum payments and some allowances that may be obtained following the passing of a loved one for a given period of time.
