Ambassadors

Muscular Dystrophy WA is privileged to have a dedicated group of Ambassadors who lend their profile and talent to represent us and our community.

charlieJunior Ambassador Charlie Hughes

Charlie Hughes is six years old and has muscular dystrophy.  Charlie attends many Muscular Dystrophy WA functions as our Ambassador, he’s even been known to chase event participants for a donation as he shakes a tin! Charlie’s infectious smile and bubbly personality are sure to melt your heart.

Simon Beaumont has been supporting Muscular Dystrophy WA for many years. His passion for helping people with muscular dystrophy and neuromuscular conditions goes back 20 or more years when he worked at Rocky Bay. Now back at 6PR – (Afternoons with Simon Beaumont 12 – 3pm) – Simon uses his voice and connections to spread the muscular dystrophy message.

West Coast Eagles great, Beau Waters joined the Muscular Dystrophy Army in 2015 when he threw his weight behind the TRIUMPH over muscular dystrophy campaign at the SunSmart Ironman 70.3 Busselton. Beau attends many community and fundraising events, lending a hand and leveraging his profile to raise awareness and funds for muscular dystrophy.

Western Australian Professional Triathlete, Renee Baker jumped at the chance to lend herself to the Ambassador role. First affiliated with our campaign at Busselton, Renee continues to put herself on the line for Muscular Dystrophy WA… even auctioning herself off as golf caddy all in the name of charity!

Renee said “I’m really excited to take on this role with a wonderful charity.  As a nurse for the last 6 years, I have worked with quite a lot of people who have muscular dystrophy.  It made sense to become an Ambassador for a cause that I understand.”
